Leah Fein

For the past two years Leah has been feverishly and passionately writing For the Love of Poodles. The book grew from deep research, long interviews, and many hours spent in nursing homes, grooming rooms, and kitchen tables—listening to owners, handlers, trainers, veterinarians, and the generous people who welcome poodles into their lives. Along the way she met inspiring individuals whose stories color these pages.Leah’s childhood among show poodles and her mother, AKC judge Carol Makin, taught her patience, precision, and a devotion to care that informs both her writing and her work. She also curated and commissioned poodle artwork throughout the book—beautiful pieces by local and independent artists chosen to celebrate the breed’s personality and charm. These collaborations are woven into the book as a visual companion to the stories.

Based in Delray Beach, Florida, Leah blends technology, creativity, and compassion to help brands and communities connect — and to remind readers that small acts of companionship can make a big difference
